Looking for Pelletti

Hello all, I am new to this community. I have been doing research on both sides of my family for many years. I have put together a lot of information. I am planning a trip to Italy in July and want to see if I can get more information on my ancestors that came over.

My great grandfather Henry Pelletti came to the U.S. in 1912 at the age of 27. He was born on Feb 1, 1888 and is from Palermo, the capitol city of Sicily, which is where we believe he was born as a Catholic. We are not sure about the spelling of his name.

Family legend says he had farm land and that his wife, Viktoria was well known for her sense of style.

I am looking to get more information on both sides of Henry’s and hopefully go visit these places during my trip next year. Thank you, in advance, for any help or advice.

Munich, Germany Research

My third GGF, Oscar Otto Balzner, was born 13 May 1798 in Munich. He married my third GGM, Veronika Unger 27 Mar 1826 in the Frauenkirche church in Dresden (Church of Our Lady). They then emmigrated to the U.S. in September 1826 settling in Cook Co, Illinois. I am attempting to find more information on my Balzner family in Munich. Oscar’s father was Karl A Balzner married to Friedericke Petzsch. Per Oscar’s baptismal record, he was the fourth child. Looking for any information on his siblings or parents. Baptismal information was from the Frauenkirche. I believe they have family information on site.

Italy Research

I would like to obtain the Italian birth certificates and immigration passenger list info for both my great grandmother Rose Phillippo and my great grandfather Antonius Garibaldi.

The source information documents that I have already for them are electronic copies of marriage certificate, obituary, and petition for naturalization for Antonius. I have not been able to find anything on either of them in terms of immigration to the U.S. or actual birth documentation in Italy.

Halkirk, Caithness, Scotland Research

I would like you to research David Lindsay. Specifically, obtain his date of birth (christening) and place of birth. David was probably born between 1787and 1793, most likely near Halkirk, Caithness, Scotland.

David was married on 4 June 1812 to Kaatherine Meiklejane.

His father’s name was Alexander Andrew and his mother’s Catherine Burnison according to a marriage document.

I have researched the Old Parochical Registers of Scotland for the County of Caithness and found nothing. On a recent visit to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, I met with a specialist on Scotland and was informed that they may not have the records or he may have belonged to a non-Protestant church. I was told that I needed to contact a professional genealogist, preferably in Scotland. I have other people for you to research.

SAR Research

I have lineages that I believe are accurate, but they need verification from approved records. N My specific goal is to be able to join the DAR thanks to approved supporting documents.

I have done a good deal of research on several lines of my family, but certain generations are problematic because of geographic moves and lack of hard evidence for earlier generations. Several states are involved (for example: Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Missouri, Tennessee; and for another line Maine and Illinois)
